Allowlist

Allowlist

Summary

Since version 4.0.1, the LaTeX and MathJax Plugin now includes an Allowlist feature, for both LaTeX and MathJax to allow System Admins to restrict who, and what can be written in our Macros. There are individual Allowlists for LaTeX commands, and Groups, and similarly, which Elements can be used in MathJax, and which Groups are authorized to create new MathJax Macros

Please verify any new commands or elements a user requests that you add to the Allowlist, and only allow new commands you are familiar with, or are happy to be run using the binaries on your host instance

Command Allowlist

The Command Allowlist defines which LaTeX commands can be used within a macro. The Allowlist is made up of a Default Allowlist, which is preloaded with a number of latex commands, ideally to provide you with little overhead. The Default allowlist can be modified, or extended via the Custom Command List

Custom Commands

Custom Commands can be added to the Custom Commands Allowlist:

  1. Add a new command to the ‘New Command’ Field

  2. Submit that command using the ‘Add new Command’ button

  3. Press the ‘Save Table’ button to save all changes to the Custom Commands Allowlist

Default Commands

Commands can be removed from the Default Commands List using the ‘Delete’ actions on each table row. As with the Custom Commands table, press ‘Save Table' to save any changes.

The ‘Restore Defaults’ button will revert the Default Allowlist, back to it’s ‘Default’ state.

MathJax Element Allowlist

The Elements Allowlist defines which MathML elements can be used within a MathJax macro. the Allow list is built up of the ‘Default’ allowlist, and a custom allowlist. The Default allowlist is preloaded with a number of MathML elements to reduce overhead for the System Admin. This list can be modified, or extended with the Custom Elements allowlist

Custom Elements

Elements not already on the Default Allowlist can be added to the Custom Elements Allowlist:

  1. Add a new element to the ‘New Element’ Field

  2. Submit that element using the ‘Add new Element’ button

  3. Press the ‘Save Table’ button to save all changes to the Custom Elements Allowlist

Default Elements

Elements can be removed from the Default Elements Allowlist using the ‘Delete’ actions on each table row. As with the Custom Elements table, press ‘Save Table' to save any changes.

The ‘Restore Defaults’ button will revert the Default Allowlist, back to it’s ‘Default’ state.
