Withdrawal of online JEMH Server license purchase

gitlog for 1.0

I couldn’t quite remember when JEMH was released, so long ago that Mercurial was the more mature than Git at that time, I had to pull the (since migrated) gitlog for the date:

commit 491a1992670b01aaa8e980d083ca16d5f6a45cf5 Author: andy <devnull@localhost> Date: Mon Apr 9 22:32:00 2012 +1200 npe bugfix for zynga

So, the first commercial release of JEMH (1.0) was a released a decade ago in a month or so . Much has changed, people have moved on - #hello Micah!, #hello Clement!

JEMH for Jira Server has only ever been licensed directly through us due to our pre-Atlassian Marketplace vendor licensing. License purchase was also possible through an e-junkie online shop integration that has been chugging away all this time, but times change.

What is changing

Today, with the ongoing customer migration to Cloud and DataCenter the need for new Server licensing has dropped off a great deal. As such we are taking the step to remove the ability to purchase JEMH Server licenses online. The ability to generate single initial use web evals (single initial use only!) will remain, for now.

Why now

The kicker for this action is the Russian invasion of and ongoing war with Ukraine.

Whilst most of the world target sanctions at Russia, its leader, their entire parliament, banks etc, we, as a small software company, want to support the world view that this war is not ok.

As such:

  1. We have decided that we cannot ( in some cases, due to bank sanctions, probably could not) engage in sales of licenses with Russian customers/resellers

  2. We have withdrawn the ability to purchase JEMH Server licenses online through the shop

  3. A Policy Page will be made available in the coming days for reference.

Still need to purchase a JEMH Server license or have license issues?

We will continue to handle all Server licensing through usual channels:

ciao!
