Wiki markup (eg !image.png!) not working in JSM *Customer* Comments

Currently, Atlassian has implemented a ‘quoting’ of comment text sent in over REST calls (ie JEMHC extracted comments). The impact of this is that comments made by portal Customers are not rendering wiki markup, most noticeable are images , the current output shown is of the like !someimage.png|thumbnail! which is valid markup, but doesn't work due to being escaped.

Atlassian have indicated on an internal ticket https://support.atlassian.com/requests/JST-825693 that this change is “expected to be rolled out around JUNE 2023”.

So, until then, markup will be shown in JSM portal Customer comments.
