Job background
A great opportunity for an experienced Java Software Engineer to work in an entirely new bubble! We are a small but established JAVA software house with an established worldwide customer base operating exclusively in the Atlassian addon market.
Working hours are 40 hrs (0830 - 1700, 30m lunch), in a Cheltenham based office (close to M5 access). We support customers electronically, no site visits! As a relatively new company we'll be setting a workplace pension in the coming year. Foreign travel may be possible for specific events, usually annually for a sales/expo in San Francisco as well as potentially elsewhere (EU or USA) for developer focused conferences.

Junior Java Developer 22-30K
With at least 1 year in a Java Development role you will contribute to the full life-cycle development and maintenance of our products involving technologies across web, server and cloud.
Key duties and responsibilities
Work on the Development for and maintenance of our products
Write unit and integration tests.
Document features, scenarios and user support articles as required
Track and manage all tasks through our issue tracker
Resolve escalated problems is our issue tracker in a timely manner
Person specification
Strong problem solving, debugging and investigative skills
A multi-year Computing degree, 2:1 or better is a big +Good OO design skills
Good multi-tasking ability
Good knowledge of networking fundamentals
Ability to communicate clearly with the team both orally and through documentation, as well as being able to converse with customers via issue tracker
Knowledge of source control systems (e.g. Git/Mercurial) and branch management
