What are exclusions

Exclusions allow you to prevent certain emails, attachments and notifications from being processed. Excluded items can be either forwarded (to the forward user) or dropped silently.

Who can configure exclusions

User’s that have been given access to the app and Jira Project administrators. JEMHCloud Exclusions can be defined within two locations, JEMHCloud app (Global to all issues and Projects) and through the Jira project (Applied that specific Project).

When exclusion rules apply, the JEMHC > Auditing > item > Report contains details as to why.  Auditing is located in global configuration (JEMHCloud > Auditing) and through the Jira project administrator screen (Project Admin > JEMHCloud > Auditing).

User Cases For Exclusions

Common reasons to exclude an item include Postmaster addresses, e.g. informing you that the recipient address can’t be found. Other automated response systems are also good candidates for being excluded. You may also want to exclude file attachments, a common annoyance can be email signature images being attached to created issues, attachment exclusions allow you to remove these unwanted attachments.
