About Us

The Plugin People are a small company based in Cheltenham, UK with established worldwide customers.  We specialise entirely in development of plugin's / addon's for the Atlassian suite of Application Lifecycle Management products such (e.g. JIRA).  Due to continued growth over the last few years we are now looking to add more support and development capacity through the permanent roles below.  Its a great time to join the company, an opportunity for you to shape your own role and future!

Our Location

Junior Java Developer (20-25K)

In this varied role with a support focus, you will be a motivated self-starter, working with a wide range of customers from start-ups to large corporations, to help identify and resolve product related issues, documenting resolutions as needed for others.  You skills as a Java developer will be applied in problem reproduction, test case generation and bug fixing. Possibility for annual international travel (not support-related).

Requires
  • At least a 2:1 in a Computing major degree
  • 1-2 years Java experience
  • Good analytical/problem solving skills
  • Good written/verbal communication skills
  • Desire and ability to learn new topics and technologies
Desirable
  • Hands on knowledge of Linux
  • Familiarity with relational databases, eg Postgresql
  • Knowledge of Maven and source control systems like Git, and Mercurial
  • Hands on JIRA familiarity!

Java Developer (Intermediate/Senior 30-45K)

As a Java Developer you will be be working on our core products, meeting customer demand for new features and maintaining compatibility with the host Atlassian product.  Possible annual international travel.

Requires
  • At least a 2:1 in a Computing major degree
  • 3+ Years experience developing Java and J2EE based applications in a production environment
  • Great analytical/problem solving skills
  • Great written/verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of how to design, write and build modular projects that are testable and maintainable
  • Broad experience of web technologies such as REST, JSON, JDBC, SQL & relational databases
  • Experience with Maven, writing unit tests and build automation
  • Hands on experience with source control systems like Git and Mercurial
  • Sprint 4, Hibernate, AngularJS
Desirable
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services
  • Understanding of high availability, its impact on application design
  • Redis, Liquibase, Velocity, Google Charts
  • Hands on JIRA familiarity!
