Future Oauth support in Jira for IMAP/SMTP
Problem
Both Google and Microsoft have both announced that simple user/password authentication will be removed in coming years. The changes announced by google affect inbound AND outbound mail transfer.

2021 is a long way off, however, if you read the small print, it will affect you sooner:
