Setting Data Residency

Summary

When installing JEMHC, the Data Residency location is based on your Atlassian Product Residency Location. Due to this it means that you will need to set your Jira Products residency location to be within EU or Germany if you wish to have JEMHC located within Germany instead of the US.

For more info about Data Residency see: Data Residency

Setting JEMHC Data Residency when installing JEMHC for the first time

Currently when you install JEMHC for the first time it will check to see the Data Residency location that the Jira Products have and if it is either “EU” or “Germany” then it will use the Germany hosted version of JEMHC, if located anywhere else then it will use the USA hosted version of JEMHC.

Due to this, if you want JEMHC to be hosted within Germany then you will need to:

  1. Set the Data Residency for your Jira products. For more info about this see Changing Jira Product Data Residency section below.

  2. After this is set and transferred, you will then need to install JEMHC.

If you install JEMHC before setting the Jira Products Residency location then the JEMHC data may be hosted within the US instead of Germany.

To identify where your JEMHC data is hosted, you can go to JEMHC > Licensing > Host Information and then review the App Information section:
