Customer Permissions for Request Participants

From JSM 4.18.2 and 4.19.0 Projects which have the Customer Permission ‘Who can raise requests?' set to ‘Customers who are added to the project’ will no longer be able to add non-customer users as ‘Request participants’ during issue creation. This is due to a changes to the Customer Permission requirement.

Workarounds

Request Participant filter

JEMH can prevent users with a non-customer role from being added as request participants. This will allow issue creation but will exclude non-customer recipients from the issue. To enable the request participant filter for non-customer users select ‘requireCustomerRole’ at:

  • JEMH > Profiles > Profiles > Email >Addressee Processing > Request Participant Filter

Auto Join Groups (User Creation)

Automatically joining new users to a group with a customer role on user creation will allow new users to be added to the request participant field. Auto Join groups can be configured at:

  • JEMH > Profiles > Profile > User > Auto Join Group(s)

From here add a specified group for the Project with the ‘Customer’ role and users created through JEMH will be automatically added to the ‘Customers’ group.

Auto Join Groups (Issue Creation)

JEMH can be used to automatically Join users to a group that has a customer role on the specified project on issue creation. To configure this, navigate to:

  • JEMH > Profile > Project Mapping > Issue > Groups

From here add a specified group for the Project with the ‘Customer’ role and set the ‘Auto Join Groups Audience’ to All Email participants
