What is a scriptlet?

A scriptlet is a pre-defined block of HTML content for use in notifications.  Once created and modified, scriptlets can be quickly and easily inserted into notifications sent with the Ad Hoc Notification feature.

Creating a scriptlet

To create a scriptlet, first access JEMH by using the JIRA keyboard short-cut: full stop (.) to open the Operations menu, followed by typing jemh and pressing return/enter.

Then open the Template Sets tab:

Under the Template Sets section of the page, there is a tab called Scriptlets for Ad hoc.  Opening this tab will list any existing scriptlets that are found.  Clicking the add icon  creates a new example scriptlet.

Modifying a scriptlet

From the Scriptlets for Ad hoc tab in Templates Sets, clicking the edit icon next to a scriptlet opens it for editing.  If it is a newly created scriptlet, now is a good time to change its name to something memorable:

Proceed to customise the scriptlet template to your liking.  Like other JEMH templates, you can make use of velocity variables and methods to extract issue-specific information (users, field values, comments etc.) - see here for more information on customising templates.

Once your changes have been completed, click the Submit button to save these changes.
